Actress Jal Saha married with old man in USA..
Some strange news I came across today. It says - Nepali actress Jal Saha gets married with a person in US who is almost 20 years older than her and he has already 4 kids.. His first wife died of cancer.

Well said Ashu-ji. But again I think your comments also, in some way, reflect the type of Nepali mentality that is helping for the breeding/fostering of such journalism.
Did you remember before jumping into the bandwagon that the story has been reported in Jana Aastha? This is a kind of tabloid newspaper and regularly features stories similar to those published in western tabloids and gossip magazines. You might want to remember the Shrisha Karki episode.
Tabloid Journalism is a business that sales gossips and sensations to the customers. And obviously private life of celebrities is a soft target. What is the difference between the Sun's report on Madonna or Anna Nicole or Hither Mills and this report in Jana Aastha?
Having said that, I am in total disagreement of the style of this reporting. I came here to have my say only after seeing a learned man like Ashu jumping in the fray to make a big noise on this khattam/jhoor/ derogatory reporting.
There are frailties in all spheres of our society. And this kind of journalism is the product of our mentality as a whole.
BTW Basanta dai is truly professional when it comes to sarcasm. The latest Ritubichar on J. Moriarty and US policy was fantastic.

When you enter business of showbiz, you are bound to be topic for rumors, gossips, and exaggerated news. If you are a famous showbiz personal, you lose your privacy. Almost everything about you, from your latest haircut (Britney Spears) to Marriage (Jal Shah), becomes news. Mostly, the news regarding the people who spices up our lives are spiced up. This holds true everywhere, and Nepal is no exception. Jal Shah is a successful Nepal Actress. She is the member of a Nepali Showbiz Industry. The news of her marriage here does not reflect the "khatam-ness" of journalism in Nepal; it does not reflect how Nepali journalism treats woman or the nature of Nepali journalism. What it reflects is that the Nepali journalism does not treat showbiz industry's news any differently than the rest of the world.

His writing is amusing but I find the quote by Madhubala unnecessary and could be offensive to people. Not only her marriage, every celebrity's marriage won't be able to get away from the media. Now, other papers like 'saptahik' are also going to print it.

To tell you frankly,Jal Shah is a not only an actress but also a prostitute.One time she slept with a fren of mine and charged him Rs10,000 for a night! Now,i'm glad that she's married.I hope that she'd change her life-style and be a good wife.

I take your point well.
Still, as a consumer of news, I would have liked, as a matter of preference, this news about Jal Shah -- who, for better or worse, IS a public figure -- treated with far more dignity than what was presented re: her personal and apparently happy choices in her life.
So, I guess, it boils down . .. NOT to logic per se, but to a matter of taste re: one likes to read in Nepali newspapers.
