I was wondering about some of the famous Nepalese living in the U.S. , I'm talking about the Nepali "hastis" who were famous before moving to the U.S. and also about the Nepalese who've earned some recognition/reputation in the U.S. due to their contributions!
Thanks!
B

Although for us Nepalese, it looks like there are so many Nepalese in US, but when we look at big picture, we are no where close to Italians, Hispanics or for that matter Chinese or Indians... However, my overall general opinion of Nepalese in US is they have done good enough individually... one person I know that has done something in US is Mr. Kiran (I am not sure about the last name - maybe Joshi), he is working in Walt Disney... as an animator or something and has been a part of the crew of so many animated movies made by Disney. I am sure there are lots and lots more of Nepalese holding high positions in different companies of US.

Balbhadra,
I dont think holding getting 4.0 GPA in masters, or a getting a PHD from a decent University means anything.
Whoever has come to US, mostly we all were cream students back in Nepal. We secured good percentage in SLC, ISC or BE/BSC whetever we did. SO its very obvious that we all who have graduated have a decent job.
So you mean famous within Nepalese community in USA, or overall??
I would say Samrat Upadhaya is one.

Paramendra bhagat is also wellknown , but 'notorious' would be the word for him.

CC,
I assume that my post was self-explanatory and on top of that, I did clarify what I intended to know. But your question requires me to elaborate what I'm asking for. I was wondering if there were some Nepalese living in the U.S. who're famous in the community / city /area that they live in general. Like the indian guy who was voted as a senator in Virginia ( or was it WV ? ) or say any Business tycoons or someone like Kiran Bhakya Joshi.
