exactly.whcih dvd ripper are we talking about.is there any free ones i can download that you guys suggest.

You can use any. There are tons of free softwares. Which operating system are you using?

 i usually convert movies or music videos into my ipod  from http://www.download.com/3001-2194_4-10498771.html?spi=9653422c7585c14b29b323c1f2f66801&idl=n, there are lots of softwares u can download for free, just google it..instructions given r pretty simple too.
